Everybody remembers this fandom. The movies, the cartoons...the 80's. There's something very appealing about a bunch of wisecracking guys running around apprehending ghosts, getting possessed, pissing off the government, and stumbling over demigods. It pretty much leaves the field open to put them into any and every possible situation. I loved this fandom as a kid, and while I really don't have anything to add to it, it's fun to dabble in. I need sanity like the rest of you, dammit. The page title is taken from a line in Stephen King's novel 'From A Buick 8'.
In my universe, things are a combination of both Ghostbusters and Real Ghostbusters fandoms, fanon and canon, leaning heavier on the cartoon version of things - i.e. the living arrangements; the relationships; the science; Peter, Janine, Winston and Egon except for the ridiculous hair. The suits and Ray are movie version. Try and figure that out. Oh, and Slimer is rarely seen and does not talk. Hallelujah.
Minor liberties taken with GB and RGB canon, the layout of Hook and Ladder #8, character personality, spacetime, Assyrian deities, crime scene investigation, Aramaic, English, physics, psychology, the occult, life, liberty, and the pursuit of something besides Journey fanfic for five. Whole. Minutes.Stuff to know for the non GB fans:
(Why you'd be reading this anyway, I don't know, but:)
NDE's: near death experiences.
PKE: psychokinetic energy.
The Ghostbuster's class system is here (offsite link). And yes, I've broken the rules and have a class 8. Because anyone who knows me understands there needs to be an 8 for everything. With all that said, here's what there is so far:Departed Pure
